We are ATHLETES!
That's kind of the way I pictured saying the title of this article.
Then everybody raises their golf clubs and gives the big "HA-OOH!"
I am not a big movie reference guy.
Normally I am the one left out when a reference comes up in conversation, so it feels good to slip one in every now and then.

Every week I address this community as SCRATCH ATHLETES...
Why?
Because...
We are ATHLETES!
Therefore, WE NEED TO TRAIN LIKE ONE...

The golf swing is amongst the most impactful movements the human body can create.
The physical demands presented by your golf swing are intense.
The joint angular velocities.
The forces generated.
The subsequent forces absorbed.
The rotational power created.
The mobility demands of various joints.
They all add up to create this massive stress that gets placed on your body!
Are you prepared for that stress?

How do we build resilience?
Every coach is going to differ in their explanation of how we go about building resilience in the human body.
For me, we build resilience by increasing holistic strength.
This means continuously applying novel stressors to the human body, giving it the ability to adapt.
These stressors need to be applied across many stimuli such as loading, motor variability, volume, range of motion, and intent.
Through this diversity of stress we will create an adaptable being that is capable of moving, thriving, and avoiding injury in many positions, environments, and athletic movements.
We will build a wide reaching motor toolbox.
